Ethan Nwaneri set to extend his stay with Arsenal as he is expected to sign a four years plus one-year option.
Despite interest from Chelsea and German teams, Ethan Nwaneri is ready to commit to Arsenal for the future by signing a new contract.
A four-year agreement with a one-year extension option has been agreed upon in principle, and negotiations with Nwaneri’s agents are reportedly nearing completion. Chelsea has been linked to the 18-year-old in recent weeks as he enters the last 12 months of his contract. Following his incredible breakthrough season, in which he scored nine goals in 37 games, Borussia Dortmund was also thought to be interested.
However, Nwaneri, who enrolled at Arsenal’s academy at the age of eight, was always sure that he would join fellow adolescent Myles Lewis-Skelly in extending his stay. Nwaneri was given a longer rest after playing for England in the European Under-21 Championship in Slovakia, but he will be in the group that takes a plane to Singapore on Saturday for Arsenal’s preseason tour of Asia.
Cristhian Mosquera, a Spain Under-21 international, flew to London on Tuesday to do his physical, and he may join Nwaneri. Arsenal is set to announce the transfer of Noni Madueke from Chelsea for a maximum of £52 million, and a fee of up to £16.5 million has been agreed upon.
With the Sweden striker having agreed to personal terms, negotiations with Sporting over bonuses in the Viktor Gyökeres deal, which could raise the transfer’s price to around £68 million, are also coming to an end.
