Everton announce new name for their new stadium ahead of the start of the new Premier League season later this year.
Everton announce new home will be called Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Following a name rights agreement with the commercial law firm, Everton has revealed that its new home at Bramley-Moore dock would be called Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Everton had hoped to draw a major corporation to their remarkable construction on the banks of the Mersey by looking for a naming rights partner for their £800 million stadium for a while. Hill Dickinson, which was established in Liverpool in 1810 and has recently expanded across Europe and Asia, has agreed to a long-term contract with them.
The deal’s duration and financial parameters have not been disclosed by either party, however Everton asserts that it is “one of the largest stadium naming rights deals in Europe.” That would put the deal’s annual value at almost £10 million.
Alisher Usmanov’s holding firm, USM, paid £30 million for the stadium’s exclusive naming rights in 2020, but Everton severed its connections with the oligarch’s businesses following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. On Sunday, Everton’s men’s team plays their last match at Goodison Park before moving to Bramley-Moore Dock.
According to David Moyes, the team had to “move on” from Goodison, but in moving to the more corporate facility at Bramley-Moore, they must be careful not to lose the club’s sense of community.
The manager said: “We used to hear about the prawn sandwich brigade and that was a bit controversial at the time but I do think football is moving into a world where there is a lot of money being generated and the money coming into football is phenomenal. It looks as if it’s continuing to grow.
“We’ve got to watch that we don’t stay in the past. We have got to move on. Everton need a new stadium, undoubtedly. I know we love Goodison but the facilities behind the scenes need redoing and people are looking for much more now in life. It will still attract the same people, the same people will go. The new stadium might attract a different breed but I hope we still keep the community.”
