Eyman Fatima gets maiden T20I call-up for Pakistan’s tour of Ireland.
After winning the National T20 event in May, Eyman Fatima, 20, has been called up to the Pakistan T20I team to tour Ireland.
With 287 runs at a strike rate of more than 155, Fatima finished as the fourth-highest run scorer in that competition. With 157 runs in five innings at a strike rate of 126.61, she was Pakistan’s top run scorer at the first women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup in 2023 and fourth overall.
The team that will play three Twenty20 Internationals in Dublin will be captained by Fatima Sana. At the National T20 tournament, Sana was the player with the highest strike rate and the highest run scorer.
All-rounder Nida Dar, who took the most wickets in Pakistan women’s T20I history and is only surpassed by Australian Megan Schutt worldwide, took an indefinite hiatus from cricket as her relationship with the board soured. She last represented Pakistan at the T20 World Cup. However, this team is comparable to the one that won all five of the ODI qualifiers played at home earlier this year under new head coach Muhammad Wasim.
The 24 players who participated in a skills session in Karachi that ends on July 27 were selected for the squad. Before departing for Ireland, the 15 players that were chosen will go through one last pre-series training camp.
The three T20Is take place on August 6, 8 and 10.
