Flamengo confirm Jorginho signing for Club World Cup after spells at Hellas Verona, Napoli, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Jorginho, an Italian midfielder, left Arsenal to join Flamengo, a Brazilian team.
The London club claimed to have “reached a mutual agreement with Jorginho to end his contract with immediate effect” despite the 33-year-old’s departure from the Gunners when his contract expired on June 30.
The athlete, who was born in Brazil, was able to finalise his transfer to Flamengo, who made the announcement on Friday prior to their participation in the Fifa Club World Cup, which begins in the United States on June 14.
After joining Chelsea from Napoli in 2018, Jorginho made the transition to the Premier League. While at Stamford Bridge, he won the Fifa Club World Cup, the Champions League, the Europa League, and the Uefa Super Cup.
“Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Jorgi for his contribution to the club and we wish him and his family all the best for the future,” said the Gunners.
