Gascoigne back home following health scare at hospital as he was reported to have been found ‘semi-conscious’.
After being brought to the hospital over the weekend, former England player Paul Gascoigne is back home and “doing well,” his representative announced on Monday.
According to The Sun, Gascoigne, 58, was first sent to an intensive care unit after a friend discovered him “semi-conscious” at home in Poole, Dorset, on Friday.
Gascoigne assisted in guiding England to the World Cup and Euro 96 semifinals in 1990. With clubs like Newcastle, Tottenham, Lazio, and Rangers, he was regarded by many as one of the most naturally gifted athletes of his period. He represented England in 57 games.
“Paul voluntarily went into A&E on Friday after struggling with a throat condition he has had for a while,” Carly Saward at the MNT talent agency told the Associated Press. “He is already back home and doing well.”
He has battled alcohol addiction for decades and has also had other health problems in recent years.
