Grace Harris ruled out of the World Cup with calf strain, Heather Graham called up.
Due to a calf strain, Australia’s Grace Harris will not be participating in the ODI World Cup. Heather Graham, an all-rounder for Western Australia, has been called up to take her place.
In Saturday’s final ODI of the three-match series against India in Delhi, Harris hurt her calf while fielding. Harris only participated in just one game throughout the series after Annabel Sutherland was ruled out due to hip pain.
Given her ability to hit in the lower order, Harris was a vital reserve player even though she was not expected to start in Australia’s first-choice XI at the beginning of the World Cup. Given that Australia does have some injury concerns, she might have participated in the event. After Darcie Brown experienced back spasms and Phoebe Litchfield missed the final two games of the ODI series due to a quad problem, Sutherland’s hip soreness was the most recent ailment to surface.
Due to her ongoing recovery from a serious knee injury, Sophie Molineux was unable to play the entire series. Captain Alyssa Healy is returning from serious foot issues, and Georgia Wareham is recovering from a groin and adductor strain that prevented her from playing in the Hundred.
The 28-year-old Graham has been a member of numerous squads since his lone ODI appearance for Australia in 2019. But since the final of her five career Twenty20 Internationals in September of last year, she hasn’t participated in an international match.
