
Guwahati among probable venues shortlisted for NZ series with Trivandrum also being considered as an option.
The shortlist for the eight white ball matches between India and New Zealand includes the following cities: Jaipur, Mohali, Indore, Rajkot, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Trivandrum, and Nagpur. The series, which is set for early next year, is also considering a few other centres.
The series versus New Zealand is tentatively set for January 2026 and will consist of three ODIs and five T20Is. In addition to two Test matches against the West Indies in October and a complete series against South Africa, the white ball series will complete a busy home international schedule that also includes an away white ball series in Australia.
On Saturday night, the Apex Council of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will finalise the schedule for the New Zealand series. The BCCI will decide the rules for the franchises’ IPL win celebrations, the new age-verification process, and the domestic cricket schedule for the forthcoming season during the meeting, which is scheduled to take place online at 4 p.m.
A complete series against South Africa, who will travel to India to play two Test matches (in Kolkata and Guwahati), three ODIs (in Ranchi, Raipur, and Vizag), and four Twenty20 Internationals (in Cuttack, New Chandigarh, Dharamsala, and Lucknow) in November and December, will come after the two Test matches against the West Indies (in Ahmedabad and New Delhi).
The eight-match white ball away trip in Australia, which consists of three ODIs and five T20Is, is planned from October 19 to November 8. The two home series against South Africa and the West Indies are set on either side of that visit.
The T20 World Cup, which will take place in India and Sri Lanka in February and March, will come after the eight white ball matches against New Zealand in January. The ICC tournament, in which India will be the reigning champions, will be followed soon by the IPL.
