[Saba Sports News] The Indian Premier League (IPL) witnessed a significant shift with star all-rounder Hardik Pandya being traded from Gujarat Titans to his old team, Mumbai Indians. Pandya, who had captained Gujarat Titans, is set for a comeback with Mumbai Indians in the upcoming 2024 IPL season.
Hardik Pandya’s tenure with Gujarat Titans was marked by notable successes. Under his leadership, the team clinched the IPL championship in their debut season in 2022. This victory was a remarkable achievement for the franchise, showcasing Pandya’s capabilities as a leader and player. However, the following season in 2023 saw the Titans fall just short of repeating their triumph, finishing as runners-up. They were defeated in the final by a team led by the legendary MS Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings, thus missing out on a consecutive title win.
Reacting to his return to Mumbai Indians, Pandya expressed his enthusiasm and nostalgia on his X (social media) handle. He reminisced about the memories associated with Mumbai, particularly the Wankhede Stadium and the team’s fans, known as the ‘Paltan’.
He captioned the post,“This brings back so many wonderful memories. Mumbai. Wankhede. Paltan. Feels good to be back.”
