India all-rounder Hardik Pandya is eyeing a return to Test cricket, sparking speculation with his recent red-ball training.
“Pandya, who has primarily focused on white-ball cricket since 2018, has been putting in the hard yards with the red ball,” raising talk of a potential Test comeback ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
While training at the Mighty Willow Cricket Academy in the UK, Pandya was seen “bowling at full pace” and working on his batting, along with fitness drills. He shared videos of his training, further fueling rumors of a return to India’s Test squad, contingent on his “fitness and how his body responds.”
Pandya worked with Gujarat Titans’ assistant coach Naeem Amin during these sessions. Amin described it as a “fantastic experience” working with the Indian star.
“We worked on several things, and I’m excited to see his progress in the future,” Amin shared on Instagram, adding that “working with a player of Hardik’s caliber teaches you so much.”
Amin also expressed his appreciation, saying, “I’m very grateful that Hardik trusted me to provide input on his game. Well done, and all the best, brother.”
