[Saba Sports News] Charlotte Hornets fans are facing more disappointment as Shams Charania from The Athletic has reported a significant setback regarding LaMelo Ball’s right ankle injury. Ball, a key player for the Hornets, has sustained a severe ankle sprain and is expected to miss a considerable amount of playing time. Fortunately, there’s no fracture, but he is currently using a walking boot and crutches, with the team planning a cautious approach to his recovery.
Ball injured his ankle during the first half of a recent game against the Orlando Magic, landing awkwardly after scoring over Paolo Banchero, which required assistance from the training staff to leave the court.
This injury is particularly concerning as Ball was performing exceptionally well before the incident, averaging 32.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 8.7 assists over the last nine games. The added worry stems from the fact that Ball had a season-ending fracture in the same ankle last February. This recurring injury issue is becoming a notable concern for Ball, similar to the situation with his older brother, Lonzo Ball of the Chicago Bulls.
