the highest-level event within the tour system, featuring only the top eight
players or pairs who have accumulated the highest points throughout the year in
all World Tour events. Due to its prestige and influence, the BWF World Tour
attracts significant attention from badminton players worldwide. Recently,
Thomas Lund, the Secretary General of the Badminton World Federation, confirmed
that the total prize money for the HSBC BWF World Tour will amount to US$11.5
million over the next four years. The distribution of the prize money is as
follows: US$2.5 million in 2023, US$2.5 million in 2024, US$3 million in 2025,
and US$3.5 million in 2026. According to the data, the World Tour Finals from
2023 to 2026 will take place in Hangzhou, China. The 2023 finals are scheduled
to be held at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium from December 13th
to 17th. The finals’ logo features the silhouette of Three Pools Mirroring the
Moon, and the event’s background image showcases the scenic West Lake,
representing the rich cultural elements of Hangzhou.
