
Hungary head coach Szalai stable after suffering medical emergency on the touchline in the middle of the game.
Hungary head coach, Adam Szalai, was said to be in a stable condition after being taken ill at the start of his side’s Nations League loss to the Netherlands.
“Adam Szalai fell ill in the first minutes of the Netherlands-Hungary match. But his condition is stable and he is conscious.” A statement from the Hungarian Football Federation said. “He was transported by ambulance to an Amsterdam hospital for examination.”
When the game started up again, Hungary lost to the Netherlands 4-0. In the first half, Cody Gakpo and Wout Weghorst both gave the Oranje goals from the penalty spot. Denzel Dumfries and Teun Koopmeiners struck after the break as the Netherlands booked a position in the quarter-finals of the competition ahead of Tuesday’s encounter with already relegated Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Germany, who defeated Bosnia 7-0 to achieve their biggest Nations League victory. They are five points ahead of the Netherlands, who are second in Group A3. Tim Kleindienst and Kai Havertz added goals in the first half after Jamal Musiala’s early opener. Following the interval, Florian Wirtz scored a spectacular free kick before tapping in a second. Leroy Sane, a substitute, joined in, and Kleindienst scored again to round off a dominant display.
Iceland, Wales’s next opponents, defeated Montenegro 2-0. Isak Bergmann Johannesson ended the match with two minutes remaining in normal time after Orri Oskarsson broke the tie in the 74th minute.
In Group B1, Albania and the Czech Republic went goalless. While Georgia and Ukraine drew 1-1 when Georges Mikautadze cancelled out Solomon Kvirkvelia’s own goal in the seventh minute.
In Group C1, Sweden defeated Slovakia 2-1. While Azerbaijan got their first point of the Nations League campaign with a goalless draw against Estonia.
