India and Bangladesh are deep into the first Test of their multi-format series, with the opening game taking place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on September 19.
After losing the toss, India was put in to bat, and a moment from the first session quickly grabbed fans’ attention.
Following early losses of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant came to the crease with India struggling at 34/3.
During the 16th over, while Pant was batting on 14, he was accidentally hit by an overthrow, leading to a heated exchange with Litton Das. Pant, frustrated, said, “Usko bhi to dekho, merko kyu mar raha hai? (Look at your player too; why is he hitting me?)” The clip has since gone viral on social media.
Despite the rocky start, Pant and Yashasvi Jaiswal steadied India’s innings. Their 54-run partnership helped India reach 88/3 by the end of the first session.
After lunch, Pant was dismissed for 39 off 52 balls, with KL Rahul joining Jaiswal at the crease.
