The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has yet to announce the full squad for their Irani Cup 2024 clash against Rest of India, but it’s confirmed that Shreyas Iyer and Shardul Thakur will represent the reigning Ranji champions.
The match will be held in Lucknow from October 1 to 5, 2024. Ajinkya Rahane, who led Mumbai to their 42nd Ranji Trophy title last season, will captain the side, according to a report. Iyer, seeking a return to the Indian team after a recent exclusion, aims to use this platform to prove his form. Thakur, recovering from an ankle injury, has confirmed his availability to MCA. The full squad, expected to include key players like vice-captain Shams Mulani, Tanush Kotian, and Musheer Khan, will be announced on September 24. Mumbai will aim to end their Irani Cup drought, having last won the title in 1997-98.
