Islamabad-Lahore to open proceedings for the 2025 PSL season with the tournament to begin on the 11th of April.
Islamabad-Lahore will open the tenth season of the six-team Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The 34 games will take place in Rawalpindi, Karachi, Multan, and Lahore. Rawalpindi will host the playoffs on May 13 and Lahore will host the championship on May 14 and 16.
With 13 games, including two playoff games and the championship game, the renovated Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will host the most. Rawalpindi will host 11 games, including the first qualifier and the opener, while Karachi and Multan will host five games each.
Three doubleheaders are scheduled: Sultans vs. Kings in Multan and Qalandars vs. Gladiators on May 1; Sultans vs. Gladiators in Multan and United vs. Kings in Rawalpindi on May 10; Peshawar Zalmi vs. Quetta Gladiators in Rawalpindi and Karachi Kings vs. Multan Sultans in Karachi on April 12.
“We are thrilled to officially announce the schedule for the historic 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League,” PSL chief executive Salman Naseer said in a PC statement. “Over the past decade, the HBL PSL has grown into a globally recognised tournament, showcasing the best of Pakistan’s cricketing talent.”
Before the tournament begins this season, there will also be an exhibition match in Peshawar. The teams for this match have not yet been revealed, but it is set for April 8, three days prior to the actual competition beginning.
“As part of our commitment to expanding the reach of the HBL PSL, we are delighted to host an exhibition match in Peshawar before the start of the tournament, which is a significant step in bringing top-tier cricket to Peshawar, a city with a deep-rooted love for the game,” Naseer said. “We remain dedicated to enhancing the experience for players, fans, and stakeholders, who have witnessed some breathtaking contests in the league over the years.”
The PSL will now take place within the April–May window, coinciding with the IPL, starting this year. The Champions Trophy is currently being played during the regular PSL window, hence this year’s schedule was adjusted to suit it. However, starting next year, it will formally move to a later date because the PSL window has been eroded by the ILT20 and the SA20.
The PCB and the six current franchises have agreed to add two additional clubs starting in 2026, making this edition the final six-team PSL.
