Ravindra Jadeja, the veteran Indian all-rounder, reached a significant milestone by completing 300 Test wickets.
He achieved this feat on Day 4 of the second Test between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur.
After more than two days were lost to rain and a wet outfield, play resumed under bright sunlight. Mominul Haque, resuming from 40*, played an exceptional knock, finishing unbeaten on 107 from 194 balls, with 17 fours and a six. Najmul Hossain Shanto contributed 31 runs, while opener Shadman Islam added 24.
For India, Jasprit Bumrah led the attack with three wickets, while Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj, and R Ashwin took two wickets each.
Jadeja, needing just one wicket to reach the 300-mark, finally got his breakthrough when he dismissed Khaled Mahmud with a caught-and-bowled effort.
Celebrating his 300th wicket, Jadeja was surrounded by his teammates in a jubilant moment. He became the seventh Indian bowler to achieve this landmark and the second-fastest to do so in terms of balls bowled (17,428), following R Ashwin (15,636). Jadeja also joined an elite group of cricketers with over 3,000 runs and 300 wickets in Test cricket.
The cricketing community praised Jadeja’s achievement, with many taking to social media platform X to congratulate him on this impressive milestone.
