Jaiswal declares availability for Mumbai’s 3rd Ranji game against Rajasthan ahead of the South Africa series.
Jaiswal set to play third round of Ranji Trophy for Mumbai.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, the opener for India, will play in the 2025–26 Ranji Trophy’s next round, which begins on November 1 in an Elite Group D match between Mumbai and Rajasthan in Jaipur.
Prior to the home Tests against South Africa that begin in Kolkata on November 14, Jaiswal, who recently returned from Australia as a member of India’s ODI squad, emphasised his desire to be match-ready. This is consistent with the BCCI’s mandate that all contracted players participate in domestic tournaments whenever possible.
According to reports, Jaiswal informed Mumbai’s chairman of selectors, Sanjay Patil, of his availability. Patil and his panel will select the squad for the Rajasthan match on Tuesday following the conclusion of the current round.
Jaiswal, who had requested a NOC to play for Goa, will make his first appearance for Mumbai if he plays. He re-committed to the squad in May.
His most recent outing for the team was in a group match at the BKC grounds against Jammu & Kashmir, where Rohit Sharma made a much reported Ranji appearance following a dismal tour to Australia. When Jaiswal represented West Zone in the season-opening Duleep Trophy in Bengaluru in August, it was his most recent domestic participation.
After they opened their season with a win over Jammu & Kashmir, Mumbai have seen rain hamper their chances of forcing an outright win at home against Chhattisgarh.
