Jitesh Sharma to lead India A in Asia Cup Rising Stars T20, with Naman Dhir to be the vice-captain of the side.
Arya and Suryavanshi in Jitesh Sharma led India A squad at Rising Stars T20 Asia Cup.
For the forthcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Rising Stars Asia Cup, formerly known as the Emerging Teams competition, which will take place in Doha from November 14 to 23, Jitesh Sharma has been selected captain of the India A team. Naman Dhir has been designated his deputy
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 14, was left out of the four-team Under-19 Challenger Trophy because the selectors selected him in the roster. The junior national selection panel has used that competition as a crucial benchmark over the years to determine their team for the upcoming Under-19 World Cup, for which Suryavanshi seems likely.
Ajit Agarkar and his senior men’s selection panel selected the 15-man team, which includes several excellent IPL players, like Priyansh Arya of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) and Punjab Kings.
Arya scored 475 runs with a strike rate of 179.24 during his first IPL season in 2025, ranking third for the team behind Prabhsimran Singh and Shreyas Iyer. Delhi gave Arya his first-class debut in the Ranji Trophy last week.
The other important state and IPL players include Harsh Dubey, who has been a consistent member of several India A teams in recent months, and Abishek Porel, who is presently captaining Bengal in the absence of Abhimanyu Easwaran.
Gurjapneet Singh, Vyshak Vijaykumar, Yudhvir Singh, and Yash Thakur are among the fast bowlers who are part of the BCCI’s targeted pool. The seam-bowling all-rounders are Suryansh Shedge and Ramandeep Singh.
The tournament will begin with a match between Pakistan A and Oman, and the main event between India A and Pakistan A is scheduled on November 16. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka make up Group A, while India, Oman, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates make up Group B.
Although the senior women’s teams played each other at the ODI World Cup earlier this month, this will be the first cricket match between the Indian and Pakistani men’s teams since the senior Asia Cup in September.
