[Saba Sports News] John Wall is interested in showcasing his Dougie dance moves in the picturesque landscape of The Grand Canyon State. The five-time All-Star guard recently made an appearance on FanDuel’s “Run It Back,” where he touched upon various topics, including his enduring friendship with former Washington Wizards teammate Bradley Beal. Wall expressed his desire to reunite with Beal as teammates once again, this time donning the Phoenix Suns’ colors.
Wall, who is now 33 years old, shared that he and Beal remain close and frequently communicate. He enthusiastically stated that he would relish the opportunity to join forces with Beal on the Phoenix Suns.
During his tenure with the Washington Wizards from 2012 to 2020, Wall and Beal formed a strong bond on the court. As for Phoenix, it appears to be one of the few viable NBA destinations left for Wall. The team currently suffers from a lack of depth, particularly at the point guard position. Following the departures of Chris Paul and Cameron Payne in the recent offseason, the Suns have been left with limited options for true point guards, with only seldom-used reserve Saben Lee filling that role. This has resulted in Devin Booker, Beal (once he returns from injury), and, to a lesser extent, combo guard Jordan Goodwin having to fill in as makeshift point guards for the Suns.
However, it’s important to note that Wall’s recent performances have been less than stellar, as he struggled during his time with the LA Clippers last season. He exhibited a tendency to take ill-advised shots in half-court situations and experienced numerous defensive lapses, ultimately leading to his trade before the deadline. Wall did engage in private workouts with some teams during the summer but remained unsigned, with rumors even suggesting a possible overseas move for him.
Nevertheless, there is a silver lining for Wall in his speed and ability to push the tempo when the game transitions to an up-tempo style. The Phoenix Suns, who have encountered early-season challenges with a 2-3 record, could benefit from Wall’s desire to contribute and his proficiency in pushing the pace on the fast break.
