India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir and star cricketers Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant were spotted together at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport ahead of the second Test against Bangladesh.
The trio shared a buggy ride, with Gambhir and Kohli deep in conversation, while Pant listened closely as they headed to catch their flight to Kanpur.
Gambhir and Kohli, who have a long history from their days playing for Delhi’s Ranji team, have had heated exchanges during the IPL but maintain a healthy off-field relationship.
Since Gambhir became India’s head coach, the duo has appeared in a BCCI feature, reflecting on their careers.
Pant, who also plays state cricket for Delhi, made a strong comeback to the Test team in the first match against Bangladesh, scoring 109 in the second innings.
He had also impressed earlier with a quickfire 39 in the first innings. Kohli, however, had a disappointing outing in Chennai, scoring just 6 and 17, struggling against both pace and spin. His form will be closely watched as India prepares for the second Test in Kanpur.
After the Bangladesh series, India will host New Zealand for a three-Test series.
