India and Bangladesh are currently facing off in the second Test of the series, which began on Friday, September 27, at Green Park, Kanpur.
Rain disrupted much of Day 1, but India’s Virat Kohli kept the crowd entertained with his lively presence on the field, celebrating wickets with enthusiasm.
Kohli was also in a lighthearted mood, sharing a funny moment with teammate Ravindra Jadeja. A video of the duo laughing together went viral online.
In the match, India won the toss and chose to field. Bangladesh had a cautious start with openers Shadman Islam (24) and Zakir Hasan, but Akash Deep soon removed both. Mominul Haque (40*) and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto (31) formed a 51-run partnership before Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Shanto.
Rain halted play with Bangladesh at 107/3 in 35 overs, leaving Mushfiqur Rahim (6*) and Haque at the crease.
India’s bowlers, especially Ashwin and Jadeja, will be key moving forward. Kohli’s performance with the bat will also be crucial, as he aims to bounce back after struggling in the previous Test, where he managed only 6 and 17 runs.
He’ll be looking to find form ahead of important upcoming series against New Zealand and Australia.
