[Saba Sports News] Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is reserving time in his schedule for his son Bronny James’ upcoming debut at USC. After a 133-110 defeat against the Oklahoma City Thunder, James commented on recent encouraging news about Bronny’s health.
The 19-year-old freshman at USC, who suffered a cardiac arrest on July 24, has been medically cleared for a full basketball comeback. LeBron mentioned his intention to miss a Lakers game if it coincides with Bronny’s first game at USC, a decision he’s already shared with his teammates.
“I can’t wait for his first game once he’s ready. If it’s the same day as ours, I’ll join my team in the next game. Family is most important,” he stated.
The schedules of the Lakers and the USC Trojans don’t clash much in the upcoming weeks, with matches on December 28 and 30, the latter being LeBron’s birthday. In January, only three USC games on the 3rd, 13th, and 17th align with Lakers games. This Saturday, both teams play, but Bronny might need more time to reach peak fitness before USC coach Andy Enfield considers playing him.
Before joining USC in May, Bronny was ranked as a 4-star recruit by 247 Sports and is known for his sharpshooting and defensive skills.
