Lhuan-dre Pretorius to replace Nitish Rana as a replacement.
Pretorius is a 19-year-old wicketkeeper and strong left-hand opening batsman. Although he has not yet made his debut for his country, he finished as the top run scorer at SA20 2025, with 397 runs in 12 games at a strike rate of 166.80. One of the best knocks of the season came when he scored 97 runs off of 51 balls for the Paarl Royals against Sunrisers Eastern Cape. Following his time at the SA20, Hampshire signed him for his first county assignment with Vitality Blast.
He was the top scorer for South Africa at the 2024 Under-19 World Cup last year.
Rana, on the other hand, had two standout games for RR this season. He struck 51 off 28 against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in Delhi and 81 off 36 balls against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Guwahati. RR has been eliminated from the competition, along with CSK and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). They are still ranked ninth in the ten-team tournament and have only won three of their twelve games in 2025.
Their remaining matches are against CSK in Chennai on May 12 and Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Jaipur on May 16.
