Mandhana jumps back as No. 1 in ODI batting rankings.
According to the ICC’s women’s ODI batting rankings, India opener Smriti Mandhana has returned to the top spot. Mandhana has been at the top for the first time since 2019 (727 rating points). Laura Wolvaardt of South Africa (717) lost 17 rating points and fell to a tie for second place with Nat Sciver-Brunt of England.
Mandhana’s previous two ODI appearances were in early May, when he scored 51 against South Africa and 116 in the tri-series final against the hosts, Sri Lanka.
Wolvaardt has scored a maximum of 43 and an average of 28.20 in her five 2025 ODI outings. In the first two ODIs of the current series against the West Indies, she scored 27 and 28.
Ellyse Perry of Australia and Amy Jones of England complete the top five. With Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur ranked 15th and 16th, respectively, Mandhana is the only Indian in the top ten.
Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner and Megan Schutt were well behind England’s Sophie Ecclestone, a left-arm spinner, at the top of the ODI bowling rankings. However, West Indies spinner Afy Fletcher moved up four spots to 19th place after taking four wickets against South Africa in the second ODI.
The top 10 ODI all-rounders also remained unchanged. Gardner tops the list, followed by Marizanne Kapp of South Africa at number three and Hayley Matthews of the West Indies at number two. Sophie Devine of New Zealand is ranked ninth among all-rounders and thirteenth among batters. She declared her intention to retire from ODIs following the World Cup, which India will host in September.
