Matheus Cunha subject of Man United interest as talks go on for the Brazilian international for summer transfer.
Matheus Cunha has been subject of transfer talks after Manchester United have pushed on for a summer move.
In addition to a center-forward, Ruben Amorim has made the 25-year-old Brazilian his top target for the No. 10 spot, one of the head coach’s two priority spots.
Aston Villa has the option to purchase Rashford for £40 million, although he is currently on loan there. If Rashford were sold to another team, United might receive a larger sum.
Rashford will have a three-year contract in the off-season, earning almost £365,000 per week. With an additional £56 million in salary savings from his transfer, United would have nearly £100 million to spend on Cunha’s acquisition.
Given that the Brazilian is said to make almost £90,000 per week, United should be able to fund the majority of the purchase provided he agreed to terms for five years with a significant pay hike.
Due to a relationship breakdown, Rashford is aware that he will not play competitively for United again while Amorim and this executive are at Old Trafford.
Rasmus Højlund, Casemiro, Antony, and Jadon Sancho are other players whose departure might increase United’s transfer budget. If Ipswich is relegated, which is almost a given, Liam Delap, Amorim’s first-choice center-forward, will be released for £30 million.
Sancho is currently on loan at Chelsea, who must spend £22–£25 million to acquire the striker, but they can reimburse United with £5 million if they choose to send him back. He would demand at least £20 million if he moved back to Old Trafford. The majority of Delap’s expenses would come from offloading Sancho.
Since being on loan in January, Antony has excelled at Real Betis, and United will like to recover at least £30 million for the forward, who cost £81.5 million in the summer of 2022.
Victor Osimhen of Napoli, who has a release clause worth roughly €75 million (£64.5 million), is still a target for United. However, more funds beyond the sale of Antony would need to be raised before any move for the Nigerian international, who is now on loan at Galatasaray, could be considered.
A little fee would be charged for Casemiro’s exit, as he has one year remaining on a £370,000-per-week contract, while Højlund’s price would be around £30 million.
