MCA accepts Jaiswal’s request to withdraw NOC as Indian opener set to continue playing for Mumbai domestically.
Yashasvi Jaiswal’s appeal to revoke his no-objection certificate (NOC) to relocate to Goa was granted by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), and he will remain with Mumbai for the 2025–26 domestic season.
Jaiswal’s request for a NOC to play for Goa in April was deemed “surprising” by the MCA. A month later, however, he wrote to them once more to inform them that he had changed his mind about moving to Goa with his family and that he now wanted to play for Mumbai.
“Yashasvi has always been a proud product of Mumbai cricket,” MCA president Ajinkya Naik stated in a press release. “We have accepted Jaiswal’s withdrawal NOC application and he will be available for Mumbai in the forthcoming domestic season.”
Since his time as an Under-19, the 23-year-old has represented Mumbai on the pitch. In his ten first-class games since making his debut for Mumbai in 2019, he has amassed 863 runs at an average of 53.93, including two fifties, four hundreds, and his highest score of 181 against Uttar Pradesh in 2022.
In the most recent domestic season, he also played for Mumbai in a Ranji Trophy match against Jammu & Kashmir, which they lost at home. After hurting his right ankle during pregame training, he was unable to play in the semi-final matchup against Vidarbha.
Jaiswal is presently in England with India. India lost by five wickets, and his century in the Leeds series opener was in fruitless.
