The 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup is set to begin on October 3 in the UAE, with India facing New Zealand in their opening Group A match.
The tournament was moved from Bangladesh to the UAE due to political tensions.
The change in venue has prompted tactical adjustments, with Sri Lanka dropping a pacer due to the spinner-friendly UAE pitches. However, India has maintained its squad.
Former India captain Mithali Raj believes the UAE conditions could benefit India.
“I want the team to do well. The UAE offers similar conditions, so we might have an advantage,” Mithali shared.
India is yet to win a Women’s T20 World Cup, with Australia dominating the event, having won six titles and being the current champions.
