
Monaco sign former Man Utd man Paul Pogba on 2-year contract as he restarts his football career after doping ban.
Following the expiration of his doping penalty, Paul Pogba is set to rejoin Monaco in football. The France international will have a medical this week after agreeing to a two-year contract with the Ligue 1 team.
Before being suspended for four years after testing positive for dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), the 32-year-old last participated in a competitive match for Juventus in September 2023. Pogba has been allowed to play since March after he filed an appeal against the duration of his punishment, which was lowered to 18 months.
Pogba, who has 91 caps, agreed to end his Juventus contract in November, which sparked interest from clubs all over the world. The midfielder thought it would be best to start his career in Monaco after receiving overtures from MLS and Saudi Arabia. They are hoping the agreement is finalised this week.
Even though Pogba attended Le Havre’s academy, he has never participated in French domestic football. After two stints with Manchester United, he returned to the team in 2016 for £89.3 million, becoming him the most expensive player in the world at the time.
After a disappointing second stint at Old Trafford, Pogba rejoined Juventus on a free transfer in 2022, but he had trouble with injuries and his Serie A form before to his ban.
