Mustafizur’s IPL in doubt following multiple complications after he was announced to be playing for the Delhi Capitals.
Mustafizur’s IPL participation in doubt following NOC issue, fixture clash.
The BCB claims that it has not been asked for a no-objection certificate (NOC), which has put a halt to the Delhi Capitals’ (DC) attempt to sign Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman for the remaining IPL 2025.
The IPL often doesn’t make announcements about signings until a player has obtained a NOC from his home board. But as of yet, the BCB had not received a request for one, according to its CEO, Nizamuddin Chowdhury.
“Mustafizur is supposed to go with the team to the UAE according to the schedule,” Chowdhury told on Wednesday. “We have not received any communication from IPL officials. I have also not received any such official communication from Mustafizur either.”
The Bangladesh T20I team, which includes Mustafizur, is scheduled to play two consecutive away T20I series against Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, both of which are IPL opponents. Mustafizur and the rest of Bangladesh’s team took a flight to Dubai on Wednesday, only hours after the IPL revealed that he had signed to replace Jake Fraser-McGurk.
Bangladesh will play five Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) in Pakistan on May 25, 27, and 30, as well as on June 1 and 3, after playing two T20Is in the United Arab Emirates on May 17 and 19. These two series clash with the IPL; DC will play their final three league games on May 18, 21, and 24 before, if they advance, the playoffs.
