Harmanpreet Kaur, Yuvraj Singh stands inaugurated at New Chandigarh Stadium.
At the New Chandigarh Stadium, stands were named in honour of former India men’s all-rounder Yuvraj Singh and India women’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur. Before the second men’s Twenty20 International between South Africa and India began at the venue, the stands were officially opened.
Yuvraj and Harmanpreet were at the stadium with their family, teammates, and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. During the pre-match huddle, Yuvraj was also spotted motivating the Indian squad.
After making his debut for India in 2000, Yuvraj withdrew from international cricket in 2019. He last represented India in 2017 and has participated in 40 Test matches, 304 ODIs, and 58 T20Is. Yuvraj, a reliable middle-order batsman and left-arm spinner, helped India win the first T20 World Cup in 2007. He had an incredible run at the 2011 ODI World Cup, winning Player of the Series for his 362 runs and 15 wickets during India’s victorious campaign.
One of the most important people in women’s cricket is Harmanpreet, who recently led India to their first-ever Women’s World Cup victory in November of this year. She made her debut for India in 2009 and has since participated in six Test matches, 161 One-Day Internationals, and 182 Twenty20 Internationals. She has scored 3654 runs in T20Is and 4409 runs in ODIs.
