Newcastle haven’t received Isak offer, says Howe amid continued interest for the wantaway Swedish striker.
According to manager Eddie Howe, Newcastle has not yet received a bid for their best scorer, Alexander Isak.
Despite Newcastle first claiming he had a “minor thigh injury,” the Sweden striker has not flown on the team’s preseason tour of Asia and is considering his options for a possible summer move.
Even after Liverpool paid £69 million to sign Hugo Ekitike, they are still intrigued in the 25-year-old.
Isak is not for sale, according to the Magpies, and Howe acknowledges that he does not have “full control” over the player’s future, but he claims that no offer has been made as of yet.
“He is still our player. He’s contracted to us,” Howe said at a news conference in Seoul.
“We, to a degree, control what is next for him. I would love to believe all possibilities are still available to us.
“My wish is that he stays, but that’s not in my full control. We have not received a formal offer for Alex, from any club.”
Isak still has three years left on his contract after joining Newcastle from Real Sociedad in 2022 for a reported £60 million.
In 109 games with the Magpies, he has scored 62 goals, including 27 goals in all competitions the previous season.
