Norwich City eager to get Wilshere as new manager and are confident of acquiring his services at Carrow Road.
Norwich City very close to appointing Jack Wilshere as new head coach.
Although the 32-year-old former England international manages Arsenal’s under-18 team, he has a cordial connection with Ben Knapper, Norwich’s sporting director and former Arsenal loan manager.
After declaring retirement from competition two years prior, Wilshere took up coaching at Arsenal’s youth program. Wilshere is well-positioned to take over for Narcís Pèlach, who departed Norwich last month to take over as head coach at Stoke City.
Wilshere is anticipated to become a member of Johannes Hoff Thorup’s coaching staff, with Arsenal reportedly having granted their approval. It should be simple to agree on a compensation package and just a formality to make the move.
It is said that Wilshere is enthusiastic about the prospect of assisting Norwich in their 2021–2022 Premier League comeback. Norwich is seventh in their last four games and is unbeaten when they host Pèlach’s Stoke on Saturday.
After making 197 appearances for Arsenal, Wilshere started off as an under-14 coach at the club. Wilshere remarked, “I love it,” while speaking about his transition into coaching last year. To be honest, I had no idea I had lost my true, intense love for football until it has returned to me.”
