PCB revokes Haider Ali suspension, issues NOC to play in the BPL.
Haider Ali, a batter who hasn’t played competitive cricket since being exonerated of rape charges in Manchester in September, has had his temporary suspension lifted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Haider, along with Mohammad Nawaz, Abrar Ahmed, Sahibzada Farhan, Faheem Ashraf, Hussain Talat, Khawaja Nafay, and Ehsanaullah, received a NOC to participate in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the PCB stated on Wednesday.
While touring England with the Pakistan Shaheens team, Haider—who has played for Pakistan in 35 Twenty20 Internationals and two One-Day Internationals—was accused of rape by a Pakistani woman who was born in the United Kingdom.
The PCB had suspended Haider “pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.” The Manchester police dropped the charges against Haider on September 25, stating they had not found sufficient evidence to send the matter to court.
