Perry and Sutherland cite personal reasons to withdraw from WPL as Tara Norris will also miss the WPL as well.
Perry and Sutherland withdraw from WPL 2026 for personal reasons.
For personal reasons, Annabel Sutherland of the Delhi Capitals and Ellyse Perry of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru have withdrew from the forthcoming WPL 2026 season. After getting called up by the USA for the 2026 T20 World Cup Qualifiers, Tara Norris is also not playing for UP Warriorz in the following season.
Alana King, an Australian legspinner, has been picked by DC to replace Sutherland, while Sayali Satghare, a pace-bowling all-rounder, has been hired by RCB to replace Perry.
Perry was retained for INR 2 crore for the next season after playing for RCB for all three of the WPL’s seasons. She is the second-highest run scorer in WPL history and was instrumental in RCB’s 2024 championship victory.
After playing with the Giants in the first iteration, Sutherland has spent the previous two seasons with DC. Before WPL 2026, she was hired for INR 2.2 crore. Despite being a regular for Australia, her replacement, King, has only participated in one WPL game, for UP Warriorz in 2025. However, King enters the 2019 WPL having taken 12 wickets in 13 games for the Perth Scorchers, who placed second in the most recent WBBL.
Australian batting all-rounder Charli Knott has been selected by Warriorz to replace Norris. Knott has played in two of the Hundred and six seasons of the WBBL, but he is uncapped on the international circuit.
Warriorz is signing Norris’ replacement for INR 10 lakh, which was the initial price at which she was purchased in the auction. In 2023, Norris played for DC and claimed seven wickets in five games.
