Pochettino shoots down Spurs reunion after Ange sacking saying that a return to his former club is unrealistic.
Pochettino has ruled himself out the running to replace Ange Postecoglou, saying a return to Tottenham at this point is “not realistic”.
Despite taking the team to their first trophy in 17 years with a Europa League success, Postecoglou, 59, was fired on Friday.
Pochettino has been linked to a return to Tottenham after his five-year tenure at the club ended in November 2019.
However, the Argentine, who was named manager of the United States in October 2024, said he is content with his new position.
“Today it’s not realistic,” said Pochettino, 53. “Look where I am. Look where we (his backroom staff) are. The answer is so clear.
“I think, since I left in 2019, my name has always been on the list [of rumours].
“I’ve seen the rumours, we are 100 coaches on the list. Don’t be worried about that.
“If something happens [in the future], you for sure will see, but I am so happy in this moment and we cannot talk about this type of thing.”
After Turkey defeated the United States 2-1 in Connecticut, Pochettino was addressing.
It was the team’s third consecutive loss, and after nine games in charge, Pochettino now has five victories and four losses.
Together with Canada and Mexico, the United States is hosting the 2026 World Cup.
Pochettino guided Spurs to a second-place Premier League finish in 2017 and to the 2019 Champions League final when he was in north London.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank is a leading contender to replace Postecoglou, while there is interest in Fulham coach Marco Silva.
