Quinton de Kock to rejoin the Kolkata Knight Riders squad with the defending champs waiting confirmation from Moeen Ali.
Quinton De Kock set to rejoin KKR ahead of RCB game.
Until Tuesday night, there had been considerable doubt about de Kock’s return. Since then, he has affirmed that he is available for the tournament’s final leg, which takes place from May 17 to June 3.
With the IPL 2025 poised to resume after a week-long suspension due to border tensions between India and Pakistan, the majority of KKR’s overseas players, notably Australia left-arm seamer Spencer Johnson, whose homecoming was unclear until Tuesday, have confirmed their availability. Moeen Ali, an all-rounder for England, is still to confirm.
On Wednesday afternoon, the first group of international players to arrive in Bengaluru will include Andre Russell and Sunil Narine. The two are thought to have left Dubai, where they had been stationed ever since the BCCI decided to temporarily halt the competition, and caught an aircraft to Bengaluru in the middle of the morning. Awaiting a restart, they had postponed their subsequent journey to the Caribbean.
Beginning Wednesday night, the majority of their Indian contingent will arrive in groups. Prior to their match against RCB, KKR will train twice at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday and Friday.
