Rachin Ravindra suffers facial injury in what has been diagnosed as a facial laceration for the left-hander.
Ahead of the three-match T20I series against Australia, New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra was injured to his face during training on Tuesday, September 30, when he collided with a boundary hoarding while trying to make a catch.
“Ravindra received a facial laceration and will continue to be monitored by the medical team having passed an initial concussion test at the ground,” the New Zealand team’s official handle posted.
In 2025, Ravindra has suffered two face injuries. During a tri-series match against South Africa in Lahore earlier this year, in the run-up to the Champions Trophy, he was hit in the forehead while trying to make a catch under the floodlights. He missed the remainder of the tri-series and New Zealand’s Champions Trophy opener match against Pakistan because of the blow.
Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui will host the first game of this home series versus Australia on October 1. The following two games are set for October 3 and 4.
