[Saba Sports News] The IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals, known for its commitment to developing young cricketing talent, has announced plans to open a cricket academy in Jaipur. In partnership with the PS Sports Agency, the Rajasthan Royals Cricket Academy aims to promote cricket development in the state and teach aspiring cricketers the Royals’ approach to the game.
The academy, slated to launch early next year, will be based at the PS Sports Excellence Arena on Ring Road, Muhana. It will serve as a foundation for additional academies that the franchise plans to establish in Rajasthan in the future.
The Rajasthan Royals Cricket Academy in Jaipur will offer a comprehensive coaching program for both male and female cricketers of all ages, featuring structured coaching methods and facilities. The franchise has a history of supporting grassroots cricket development in Rajasthan through initiatives like the Royal Sparks and Colts Program, which identifies and nurtures young cricketing talent across the state.
The Rajasthan Royals Cricket Cup, a tournament played across genders and age groups, has also been part of these efforts. The franchise actively engages with local talent, providing opportunities for aspiring players to join the IPL team and fast-tracking their development through trials and coaching camps.
One unique aspect of this academy is the chance for young players, both male and female, to compete against other Royals’ academies, gain access to the Royals’ High Performance Centre in Nagpur, and receive insights from former and current Royals’ star players.
Jake Lush McCrum, CEO of Rajasthan Royals, expressed his enthusiasm for this venture, emphasizing its significance in supporting grassroots cricket in the state. Former Royals’ player Pankaj Singh, who was part of the inaugural IPL-winning Royals’ team, also praised the initiative, highlighting its potential to nurture young cricketing talent in Jaipur and neighboring areas.
