[Saba Sports News] Former Real Madrid star Sergio
Ramos made a return to his hometown team, Sevilla, during the summer. In a
recent interview, Ramos shared his close encounter with joining Manchester
United back in 2014. Interestingly, Ramos revealed that his father, a devoted
Manchester United fan, had always hoped for him to play for the club. At the
time, Manchester United made a lucrative offer with an annual salary of 11
million euros after tax. However, Ramos remained unmoved and chose to accept
Real Madrid’s annual salary of 9 million euros, ultimately renewing his
contract with the club for five years. Ramos’ unwavering commitment played a
significant role in Real Madrid’s subsequent triumph of winning the Champions League
three times in the following three years.
