Record revenues but sixth consecutive year of loss for Manchester United as they reveal accounts for last season.
Manchester United hit £666.5m record revenues but lose £33m amid turmoil.
In the fiscal year ending in June 2025, Manchester United made a record-breaking £666.5 million, yet the team still recorded a £33 million loss. Despite not playing in the Champions League, the team’s income increased by 0.7%, from £661.8 million in 2024 to £4.7 million in 2024.
The loss of £33 million follows the payment of £36.6 million for exceptional items as part of the club’s “transformation plan.” This includes paying any 150–200 workers who lost their jobs in the most recent round of layoffs, as well as firing Erik ten Hag and the manager’s staff. Losses decreased from £113.2 million the year before.
CEO Berrada’s statement
Omar Berrada, United’s chief executive, said: “To have generated record revenues during such a challenging year for the club demonstrates the resilience which is a hallmark of Manchester United.
“As we start to feel the benefits of our cost-reduction programme, there is significant potential for improved financial performance, which will, in turn, support our overriding priority: success on the pitch.
“On the field, we are pleased with the additions we have made to our men’s and women’s first-team squads over the summer, as we build for the long term.
“Off the field, we are emerging from a period of structural and leadership change with a refreshed, streamlined organisation equipped to deliver on our sporting and commercial objectives.”
Man United’s future revenue estimates
Despite United’s first absence from European football since 2014–15, the team anticipates making between £640 million and £660 million.
According to the data, the men’s team’s participation in the Europa League contributed significantly to the decline in broadcasting revenue, which fell by £48.9 million to £172.9 million. The team generated record commercial sales of £333.3 million and record matchday revenues of £160.3 million.
Due to fluctuations in exchange rates, United’s primary debt dropped from £511 million to £471.9 million.
