[Saba Sports News] In the recently concluded F1 Abu Dhabi race, Max
Verstappen of Red Bull Racing emerged as the winner in a dominant performance.
Verstappen and his team had a strong season, breaking records along the way.
Verstappen himself secured 575 of Red Bull’s 860 points, setting new highs in
the history of the sport. However, due to the significant gap in points
compared to other teams, Red Bull Racing will have to pay a substantial fee to
the FIA in order to defend their F1 championship in 2024. According to FIA
regulations, teams are required to pay a fixed fee and an additional fee based
on the points they earned in the previous season. Red Bull Racing, in addition
to the fixed entry fee of £540,000 for the next season, will have to pay a fee
of £6,512 for each point gained in 2023. With their 860 points from this year,
their entry fee for 2024 will amount to a staggering £6.14 million. In comparison,
the second-placed Mercedes team, which has less than half the points of Red
Bull, will have to pay a significantly lower fee.
