Rovman Powell ruled out of T20I series against Pakistan with wrist injury.
Due to a wrist injury sustained during the last series against Australia, West Indies batter Rovman Powell was officially ruled out of the T20I series against Pakistan. No replacement will be named by West Indies.
On July 26 at St Kitts, Powell, 32, was hurt while trying to make a catch during the fourth Twenty20 International match against Australia. He missed the first Twenty20 International against Pakistan in Florida’s Lauderhill on July 31, which West Indies lost by 14 runs, as well as the fifth Twenty20 International against Australia after the injury.
The three-match T20I series between Pakistan and the West Indies will resume in Lauderhill on August 2 and 4. After that, on August 8, the two sides take a plane to Tarouba, Trinidad & Tobago, for a three-ODI series. Powell last played in the format in 2023, hence it is doubtful that he would be included in the West Indies ODI squad.
