Will Sanju Samson edge out Ishan Kishan for a spot in India’s T20I squad? Both wicketkeeper-batters impressed in the Duleep Trophy recently, with Samson scoring 196 runs compared to Kishan’s 123.
However, Samson’s two ducks in his last T20Is against Sri Lanka raise questions about his form. Despite this, his strong Duleep Trophy performance boosts his chances of reclaiming his spot.
Kishan, who had been sidelined despite consistent performances, recently returned to domestic cricket, sparking speculation of a T20I recall.
However, with Kishan selected for the Irani Cup, Samson appears to be the preferred choice for the upcoming Bangladesh series, possibly filling the opening role in the absence of Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
The T20I series begins on October 6 in Gwalior, followed by matches on October 9 (New Delhi) and October 12 (Hyderabad).
