Season all but over for Marcus Rashford after injury suffered during his loan spell at new club Aston Villa.
Season comes to an end for Marcus Rashford due to injury.
Marcus Rashford suffered a hamstring injury during Aston Villa’s FA Cup semi-final loss to Crystal Palace on Saturday, and it is anticipated that he will miss the remainder of the team’s season. The England forward who is currently on loan will undergo a scan, but surgery is not anticipated to be necessary.
Rashford, whose injury recovery will be at Villa, has a remote chance of playing against Tottenham on May 18, but he is not allowed to play in their season-ending matchup with his parent club, Manchester United.
It is believed that Villa protested to the Premier League when Tottenham asked to reschedule the match because they might play in the Europa League final three days later. Seventh-place Villa, three points behind fifth-place Chelsea, are concerned that rescheduling the match could hurt their chances of qualifying for the Champions League.
Unai Emery stated that Rashford will be out for “some weeks” after he was not included in the Villa team that left the FA Cup at Wembley.
After being called up by Thomas Tuchel, Rashford, who has four goals in 17 Villa games, rejoined the England team in March.
