[Saba Sports News] Pakistan are all locked and loaded, ready to face India on the occasion of the 12th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, which is set for the 14th of October at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Pakistan have won both of their matches in the tournament so far, against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka.
Notably, the Men in Green have been searching for their first ODI World Cup victory against India. Both teams have faced each other seven times in the World Cups, with India winning all of them, leaving the Pakistan team and fans in disarray.
However, this time, led by Babar Azam, Pakistan are fully prepared to make history by defeating India, but it won’t be an easy task. India are looking better on paper.
The Pakistan team is putting in a lot of effort during their practice sessions, leaving no stone unturned in the nets. Moreover, they are focusing a lot on their fielding skills under the supervision of fielding coach Aftab Khan.
On the eve of the match day, a brief chat occurred between Shaheen Shah Afridi, a few fans and media reporters who were covering Pakistan’s practice session.
As Shaheen was returning to the dressing room after an intense bowling and fielding session, reporters asked him for a selfie. The star pacer asked the fans and reporters to wait until he takes a five-for against India.
“Zaroor selfie loonga, but five wicket lene ke baad (I will definitely take one, but only after I’ve claimed five wickets)”, Shaheen said as quoted by RevSportz.
Shaheen is having an average tournament so far as the 23-year-old has picked up only two wickets in as many matches. Against the Netherlands, his bowling figures were 7-0-37-1, whereas versus Sri Lanka, he ended up conceding 66 runs in nine overs and bagged only one wicket.
