Shoulder injury puts Adam Zampa’s IPL season to an end as he flies back home for further treatment on injury.
Shoulder injury means that Adam Zampa has been ruled out of the IPL. He played the first two games for the Sunrisers Hyderabad side and took 1 wicket each in both games.
He missed the following four games due to shoulder pain in his bowling arm before returning home to Australia for additional medical advice.
It is believed to be a return of a problem he faced prior to the 2023 ODI World Cup. There, he bounced back to finish as the second-leading wicket-taker in the competition and played a crucial role in Australia’s trophy victory.
Zampa might have been able to return to the IPL after a brief break to resolve the issue, but SRH decided to use 21-year-old Karnataka batsman R Smaran in his place.
Until Australia’s upcoming T20I series against the West Indies in the Caribbean, which begins in late July, Zampa is now unlikely to play again. He plays a crucial role in Australia’s preparation for the T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, where the side will play 19 bilateral Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) between July and February.
Sunrisers are currently on 9th place in the points table, just above Chennai Super Kings on NRR. The Men in Orange have won 2 out of their 6 games so far and will look to build on their recent victory against the Punjab Kings.
Sunrisers’ next game is against the Mumbai Indians (MI) on Thursday at the Wankhede Stadium.
