Star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli arrived in Kanpur on Tuesday ahead of the second Test match against Bangladesh, set to begin on September 27.
Kohli, alongside wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and head coach Gautam Gambhir, arrived following India’s dominant 280-run victory in the first Test in Chennai.
Upon their arrival, fans and hotel staff eagerly gathered to greet the cricket stars. As Kohli entered the hotel lobby, he was welcomed with a tilak ceremony and presented with bouquets and gifts.
When a staff member extended his hand for a handshake, Kohli, carrying a bag and a bouquet, politely declined, saying with a smile, “Sir, do hi haath hain” (Sir, I only have two hands).
Despite a quiet performance in the Chennai Test, Kohli will be hoping to turn things around in Kanpur, where he has previously played just once, scoring 27 runs against New Zealand in 2021.
