Sunrisers draft Wiaan Mulder after allrounder Brydon Carse has been ruled out of IPL 2025 with a toe injury.
During England’s white-ball tour of India prior to the Champions Trophy, Carse, who was selected by SRH for his base fee of INR 1 crore, had injured his left toe. He was only able to bowl seven of his overs in England’s opening Champions Trophy match against Australia in Lahore as the ailment got worse. He was later disqualified from the competition.
With six wickets, Mulder, on the other hand, was South Africa’s joint-highest wicket-taker during their journey to the Champions Trophy semifinals.
Mulder has participated in 128 Twenty20 matches, capturing 67 wickets and amassing 2172 runs. He will be playing in the IPL for the first time. He did, however, play for England’s Vitality Blast, the now-defunct Mzansi Super League (MSL), and the SA20.
The 2024 runners-up, SRH, will kick off their campaign against the Rajasthan Royals at home on March 23. The IPL 2025 will start on March 22.
