Thomas Partey granted bail amid rape charges as he appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court toady for hearing.
Thomas Partey, the former football player for Arsenal, was charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. He was given conditional bail.
The Ghanaian, 32, was charged with five charges of rape against two women and one act of sexual assault against a third woman when he appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
The alleged acts occurred between 2021 and 2022 while he was a member of Arsenal, a club in north London.
His contract terminated at the end of June, and he was charged four days after leaving Arsenal. On September 2, he will make his next appearance at the Old Bailey.
When Mr Partey arrived in court, he was sporting a blue jacket, black trousers and a black zip-neck jumper. In the dock, he stood with his arms behind his back.
He called to verify his identity and to make sure he was aware of the terms of his bond.
According to the terms of his bail, he is not allowed to speak to any of the three ladies and is required to inform the police of any permanent address changes or foreign travel.
The accusations come after investigators began their investigation in February 2022 after police initially received a rape report.
Jenny Wiltshire, Mr. Partey’s attorney, previously stated that he “denies all the charges against him” and that he was grateful for “the opportunity to finally clear his name.”
According to reports, the football player is getting ready to sign a one-year contract with the Spanish team Villarreal, with the option of a subsequent 12-month extension.
