Australia secured the five-match ODI series against England by winning the decisive fifth game in Bristol, following victories in the first two matches.
England had leveled the series by winning the third and fourth ODIs, but Australia triumphed in the final clash, claiming the series via the DLS method.
Travis Head was named Player of the Match for his stellar all-round performance. Opening the innings, he scored 31 off 26 balls and later shone with the ball, taking four wickets in 6.2 overs.
Reflecting on his unexpected bowling role, Head said, “I didn’t come here expecting to bowl the 50th over twice, but it’s nice to get the job done.” He also mentioned focusing on managing his workload ahead of future assignments.
Mitchell Marsh, who missed the fifth ODI, praised Head’s consistency and freedom on the field. “We just let him play his way. He’s found real consistency and is a game changer. He’s also an underrated bowler who often changes the game, and his celebrations are great. To have options like him is a luxury,” Marsh said.
